3 questions to a professional working with plagiarism
Jonas Lundqvist has worked with Urkund since its inception in 2000. As training leader, he visits universities and schools throughout the Nordic region and his mission is to make teachers and prefects into experts on Urkund. We asked Jonas some questions:
1.
In what way is plagiarism attracting attention today?
In recent years the interest has increased almost explosively. There
are few institutions today that are not aware of the problem of
plagiarism. The media often writes about how the students´
cheating has increased. In fact, it is the detection of cheating
that has increased, not the number of cheating students.
2. What is the most common question teachers ask when you come to an institution?
Strangely enough, it is "what is plagiarism?". Many of them want to have a clear answer. It shows how important it is to discuss these issues within the organization.
3.
What is the best part of your work?
It is definitely all the meetings with teachers! I meet hundreds
of teachers every year, and they all share their experiences of
plagiarism. Moreover, many people appreciate Urkund and it is always
nice to hear that we make a difference.

How much is Urkund used at your school?
